Tom Rowe has been a professional musician for over 40 years. He is currently an oboist with the Harrisburg Symphony, where he has played under three music directors.

Rowe studied with Charles Morris as well as Stephens Hewitt of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and he earned his Bachelor of Music degree from West Chester State University.

He has taught masterclasses at Dickinson College, Lebanon Valley College, and Messiah University for Baroque oboe and recorder in Early Music performance practice. He has also given masterclasses in Traditional Irish music.

His work with the HSO is archived on the Masterworks Concert Audio series available to Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra Patrons. Rowe also plays the Uilleann bagpipes, the recorder, and the Irish whistle. Rowe has performed live with Ronan Tynan of The Irish Tenors. He has also appeared with Celtic Thunder.

Rowe can be heard playing with his wife Susan and son David in their family trio. They have played for the Harrisburg Symphony, both opening their pre-concert events and also for their Symphony Showcase. Additionally they have appeared at the Gamut Theatre and the McGinley School of Irish Dance.

The Rowe's perform an eclectic mix of historically informed Renaissance and Baroque music on original instruments, and Celtic music on authentic folk instruments in the Cumberland Valley and around Central Pennsylvania, touching lives with both their music and humanitarianism. Their work volunteering and making music for the Salvation Army was featured on Penn Live Patriot News.
